Hyaluronic acid
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that can bind large amounts of moisture, thus contributing significantly to the elasticity and freshness of the skin. However, the natural production of hyaluronic acid decreases with age. Lips, in particular, which have very little of their own fat reserves, quickly lose moisture and volume as a result, which is clearly visible in their appearance.
To counteract this natural process, more and more people are choosing to have their lips treated with hyaluronic acid. The treatment replenishes moisture loss, restores fullness to the lips, and creates a fresher, more harmonious contour.
The effect
Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of the body and known for its exceptional ability to retain moisture. In aesthetic medicine, it is used to reduce wrinkles, restore volume, and visibly revitalize the skin. Through targeted injections, the skin regains its freshness, elasticity, and a pleasant, youthful appearance.

Side effects
Hyaluronic acid
Hyaluronic acid is considered a very safe and well-tolerated substance. Most patients experience only mild, temporary side effects. These include:
These symptoms usually subside on their own within a few days.
Before every treatment at the Swiss Skin Clinic, a detailed medical consultation takes place, in which all risks and side effects are explained transparently.
Follow-up care after a Hyaluronic acid treatment
Patience is important after hyaluronic acid treatment: swelling, minor hardening, or slight asymmetries can occur and may take up to 14 days to completely subside. Only then will the final result be visible.
To ensure optimal healing, please observe the following instructions:
- Do not apply makeup to the injection sites for 48 hours; keep the areas clean.
- No sports for 4-5 days to avoid swelling and inflammation.
- No tanning beds or strong sunlight for at least 2 weeks.
- Avoid applying strong pressure to the treated area for two weeks.
- Especially important when getting nasal injections: be careful with glasses and masks!
- For lip treatments: Gentle lateral stroking with medium pressure morning and evening for 14 days.
These measures support optimal healing and ensure a harmonious, permanently beautiful result.
